This month I would like to introduce my guest blogger Sue Bishop from Soul to Sole. One of the treatments Sue offers is reflexology.   Working on the feet is different to working with the mind.  It can have wonderful results.  Here is some information she has shared which is a good  insight.

Sue Bishop Soul to Sole

I’ve always had a passion for Reflexology; I did a workshop in 1998 but could not afford to do the course then.  Two and a half years ago, I decided to do the accredited course along with the Anatomy/Physiology and Pathologies course which was very interesting learning how the body works. This is a very effective and powerful therapy creating harmony and balance which is essential for your well-being.

What is Reflexology?

Reflexology is a method for activating the healing powers of the body.  The early Chinese, Japanese, Indians, Russians and Egyptians worked on the feet to promote good health.  It works on the principles that there are reflexes in the Feet that correspond to all Major Organs, Glands and body parts.  It is a unique method of using the Fingers and Thumbs on these reflex areas.

Reflexology reduces Stress and induces deep relaxation, Improves circulation, cleanses the body of toxins and impurities, balances the whole system, revitalizes energy, it is a preventive health care, also stimulates Creativity and productivity.

 How does it work?

The feet are a mirror image of the body; each Foot represents half of the body containing 10 zones, 5 in each foot and by stimulating these zones affects the entire body, bringing harmony for many ailments.

What is involved in the treatment?

A treatment starts off laying on a therapy bed with a nice cosy blanket, listening to relaxing music and the smell of essential oils to calm the mind.  A nice Foot massage and loosening techniques, followed by applying pressure with the thumbs and fingers on the foot to revitalise and balance the energy zones, improving the functions of all the organs and glands to work in harmony with each other.  This leaves the client deeply relaxed, most fall asleep.  After your treatment, your feet feel amazing and you leave feeling deeply relaxed.  Drinking plenty of water on the day of treatment and 2 days afterwards is a must to eliminate toxins from your body.

It works on the following systems of the body.

Nervous – Muscular – Skeletal – Circulatory – Lymphatic – Respiratory – Digestive – Urinary – Endocrine – Reproductive

Making a difference to people’s lives

Some of my clients come to me with stress, which has a knock on affect to their body, they don’t sleep well, don’t eat properly or cannot function very well.  Others come with problems like, back pain or Shoulder pain or Digestive problems. Others have had trouble conceiving and on 2 occasions the Reflexology has worked for them. By harmonising the body with Reflexology, the body start to heal itself.  Whatever the problem they have, I have done a full treatment which is one hour but pay more attention to the problem areas they have to give them relief.  Many of my clients have reported back to me saying how good they feel and healthy and happy which is very rewarding.

Modern world

Everyone is in a rush these days and under great pressure with their jobs, and supporting their family which can lead to poor immune systems, tiredness and become ill or in pain, and suffering with stress.  Your body is a bit like a car, it needs petrol, oil and a service and sometimes parts when needed but what about you? Don’t you need a bit of TLC and function properly? I know I do.  Taking time out and have a relaxing therapy is a tonic we all deserve.

Hypnotherapy of course works with your subconscious mind, the one that looks after and takes care of us.  It knows all about us, past and present.  One thing it doesn’t do is understand time.  Something may have happened last week or many many years ago, itreally doesn’t know the difference.  A consultation with myself is FREE.  If you want to know how to set your subconscious mind free, get in touch, you will be glad you did.
